The best way to quickly get protein in your body is through a protein shake. This type of protein is immediately absorbed by your body. You should also consume some fat, especially fat that contains omega-3s and omega-6s. If you have a sports drink handy, you should consume that as well. The sports drink will help your body restore energy, replace nutrients lost during the workout and will create a much needed spike in your glycemic index.
